A virtual architectural structure—an object depicting a building that could never exist in reality. It was created as a work of art using diorama-making techniques. (Approximate scale: S = 1:150 / N scale.) This work was followed by Dai ryohunkaku -tower No-2, approx. 36 floors (2019), Dai ryohunkaku -tower No-3 (2020), Dai ryohunkaku -tower No-4 (2021), and Dai ryohunkaku -tower No-5 (2021), as subsequent works in the series.
The title is taken from the name of Ryounkaku (凌雲閣), also known as Asakusa 12-story Tower, which opened in 1890 (Meiji 23) and stood as a symbol of Asakusa, Tokyo, until the end of the Taisho period.
